Tender scores stunning method as the most heavily weighted metric (40%). Any facility that practices slaughter without pre-cut stunning — including non-stunned Halal and Kosher (Shechita) practices — receives a score of zero on the stunning metric and is hard-capped at a total score of 39. Facilities that combine religious certification with effective pre-cut stunning score positively.

Where does Tender's data come from?

Tender sources facility data from publicly available government registers including the FSA Approved Establishments Register (England and Wales), Food Standards Scotland, FSAI (Ireland), MPI (New Zealand), USDA (USA), TRACES (EU), and equivalent national registers.
